17 year-olds can register to vote.

16-17 year-olds can act as an election judge (a paid position) with permission from their school and parents, even if they are not registered in that jurisdiction. 

17.5 year-olds can vote in the primary election if they will turn 18 before the general election. 

Illinois has same-day registration.
